This question is from a viewer who wants to know what he can do to change his parents opinion of the gay community. His parents are successful and liberal but still worry about their son’s health and ability to find a high quality relationship in a community they perceive only focuses on youth and fun rather than monogamy and building a family.
I told him, he doesn’t represent the entire gay community and therefore can’t change his parents views about the community. He can lead by example and show that a gay man can be successful, drugfree, and in a stable relationship. He can also introduce his parents to other high quality gay men. This will broaden their horizons and over time reshape their view of the gay community. Click play to see my entire answer.
