I believe there are more important reasons to buy direct from one of the larger well known studios. For example, on the tube sites there is a huge law enforcement issue as many are uploading video’s they have recorded from people’s private web cam conversations without the originators permission. There is a huge identity theft issue too lifting video off one site and putting it on another, and pretending they are that person. I have also heard that individuals are tempted to do more extreme sex without the health and safety regulations that the studios insist upon. With the larger studio’s they vet and contract entertainers directly and with a subscription the payer expects certain obligations to be met. Top notch entertainers are not going to be attracted to the industry if they aren’t receiving the residuals for their performances due to the amount of piracy, less piracy means more income for the studio’s which equals better quality productions. Gay is a smaller audience than straight porn and we all certainly want to see productions of equal quality. Just like anything, if you can’t afford it you don’t buy it, if you don’t have enough money for a chocolate bar you don’t go into a store and shoplift it. Copyright infringement really hacks me off as I had a friend who created his own digital comic and within days it was shared across the internet denying him that income. Apologies if this sounds like a rant.

Hey Marc, like i do every night before i go to sleep, i check youtube and go through channels i am currently sunscribed to…you ofcourse are one of them. I saw the video about paying for porn and i wanted to put in my 2 cents. I actually work for an online billing company for adult sites and i think i know why people still seem to feel weird about paying for porn. I think it has a lot to do with porn still being categorized as something taboo. Its still something people feel they need to hide and paying for it sort of makes it a reality. When i wasyounger, i remember feeling, for lack of a better word, dirty. Even till this day, if i allow friends and family borrow my phone or computer, my first thought is…”shit, did i clear my history?…do i have a movie saved?…what if they go through my videos!?”. There’s that stigma that if someone watches porn, they’re perverts/dirty/bad people…etc, so until people lighten up about sex/sexuality, people will still feel uncomfortable paying for porn

I agree that there is a stigma attached to porn. Even when I have called customer service about a site i’ve paid for, I feel like they’re judging me, although there is no evidence of that. I have paid for porn videos in the past and have totally felt ripped off. This was before everything was on line. The free stuff i do have i feel like someone who has paid for the video is now sharing it with me, much like if I bought a CD and copied it for someone. if i paid money for a product I feel I have some rights to how I want to use it. of course buying a product and sharing it with the world is very different. Sometimes I feel a video is just not worth paying for. If i had to pay for some of the videos I’ve seen, I’d be one angry customer. There is a LOT of bad work out there. So sometimes not paying is a quality issue.

Just saw part 2 of your video on this subject. I agree with you. if someone is working on something for you, they should be paid. I’m an artist and people never want to pay for my time because they figure i”m doing something I like , therefore I should do it for free.

Hi Marc! I learned about you and your site recently through youtube. I must say I am impressed. I agree with everything you say. I just wish I was as wise as you are when I was your age and it was a long time ago.
About paying for porn – I did it couple of times and I would do it again for the site you are working with. But they do not offer an option of paying through PayPal. That is deal breaker for me. Sorry. If this option will become available soon, please let me know. Wish you all the best, love. C.M.

I believe that mainly the problem with not paying for porn are the Free Porn Websites …I mean that most people would think “Hey… Why should I pay to watch these videos, when I can just Google them and find them for free.” But really when you go to a certain porn site… let’s say Men.com first of all you can gain access to all the movies and other stuff you can watch them in high quality for some price that’s not really that big. I mean what’s the big of a deal to pay 30$ per month? You’re going to spend them either way.Will it be on gas, cigarettes, alcohol, fast foods and others… There is really a big difference. And as Marc said just pay to support the companies you really enjoy, because if everyone stopped paying and began watching porn for free at some pirate site these companies would go bankrupt then what would they do?!? There won’t be anyone who will make the movies that they really enjoy… And above all this a lot of people would lose their jobs because some cheapskates decided not to pay for what they’re watching. You can give 1000$ for the newest IPhone but you can’t save some 30$ for your favorite porn. I mean, come on… These pirate sites should be taken down from the net or at least should be sued for the videos that they are posting (I mean the movies from the paid sites). Let’s say your favorite actor is Marc Dylan (My personal favorite 🙂 ) you really love his work, his movies but you don’t pay to watch them… One day if all people stop paying he will be fired because the company hasn’t got the money to pay him… because you tried to save some money (LET’S HOPE IT DOESN’T HAPPEN)… then what do you do? Huh? Anyway that’s my opinion. BECAUSE OF PIRATE SITES SOME PEOPLE DON’T FOR PORN!!!

I was playing a game while watching this video, so if the point I’m about to cover was already mentioned, do forgive me.
I just feel like you missed the legitimate free content out there. A good while ago, I’d just rely on the free samples that larger studios would post. But, as of recently, I discovered just how reliable Tumblr was when it came to porn, which is when I completely stopped going to the websites of big studios. The stuff you find on Tumblr is mostly amateur stuff or just the samples from the large studios. It’s the amateur content posted as by user submission is what I’m after. To be honest, I’m not into professionally produced porn; the videos are too long for my liking and the angled photo shots bother me. Yes, the high resolution and clear images are nice, but there’s just something about professionally produced porn that turns me away (or at least just doesn’t draw my interest). And, if there’s something that I really like but it’s paid content, I’ll just forget about it and look elsewhere.
I’ve taken to a stance against piracy; I used to be nasty when it came to software piracy, but I have since stopped and purchased a lot of the software programs I had previously pirated. But, when it comes to porn, as long as I can find legitimate content that’s free, chances are good that I won’t be paying anytime soon. Besides, I don’t visit porn sites often enough for it to be worth while for me. For me it’d be like buying a book and almost never reading it.

I think a big reason for people not to pay for porn is because of the low repaying value. With a song, you buy it on iTunes and listen to it for 1500 times in the next few months; but with porn, it’s unlikely that you will view it for a second time. Obviously signing up to a website means that you can watch more than one porn video, and you don’t need to view any of them a second time to make your time worthwhile on it. But it’s about the psychological barrier here – it doesn’t feel like I have purchased anything solid. It’s exactly like how there are a lot more free users on Spotify than premium users.

That really doesn’t make sense. You aren’t paying for a single movie that you won’t watch again. You’re paying for access to all the content that a site has, or in this case, eight sites. It would take you a lot of time to consume all of it.

Those thieves stealing high quality porn should be punished. I pay for subscriptions to several sites, CF, SC, Falcon, Men, etc. because I like seeing the variety each site provides. But if people like me weren’t paying for a subscription, how would the companies pay for all these hot models? How would they pay for the behind the scenes support? How would they pay for the distribution? They wouldn’t be able to and I’d be shit out of luck watching 20 year old porn. That’s not what I’m after.
