I had the pleasure to get together with gay porn star, Kirk Cummings for this short interview that I hope all you guys enjoy.
Kirk Cummings, aka DJ Cummings, has been a name for himself in the porn industry since 2007. Also Kirk is known for his 15 minutes of fame on American Idol, Season 5 when he appeared on the show as a transgender make, singing Whitney Houston’s, “Queen of the Night”
Marc Dylan: What does 2013 hold for you? Any new projects you’re excited about?
Kirk Cummings: Well actually yes there are a few things I’m stoked about. I recently have started dabbling in DJ’ing, seems people like what I do. So I think I’ve found a new love. Also recently Spunk Lube and I have teamed up to make a Kirk Cummings line of Spunk. So I’m really excited about that and all the doors it opens. Also I will be starting the filming for my documentary on my life later this year. So far this year seems like its gonna be a good one.
Marc Dylan: What is the coolest or strangest message you’ve ever gotten from a fan? Is there anyone that you were surprised to learn was a fan of your work?
Kirk Cummings: There’s not one specific message that stands out to me. I usually ignore the negative ones, or drop my jaw like “wow, did they just say that!”. The positive ones though are up lifting and sweet. I’ve always wanted to inspire people. So when you get those good ones where they poor out their heart and tell you how much you inspire them, it feels good. When I get those I feel like I’m doing something right in this world.
Marc Dylan: Who have been your favorite scene partners to work with?
Kirk Cummings: Um well I think Robert Van Dame and Sebastian Young are sexy. But recently I’ve been missing Barret Long. So I guess I’d have to say him.
Marc Dylan: What’s your favorite body part? (on your own body, I mean.) Even better, what’s your favorite part on someone else?
Kirk Cummings: Favorite part on me is my dimples on my low back above my butt 😉 On someone else it would have to be calfs and feet. Sexy clean feet!
Marc Dylan: What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Kirk Cummings: I recently found out that my American Idol stunt in 2005 made American Idol’s most memorable moments.
Marc Dylan: Have you ever had a particularly embarrassing moment while filming a scene?
Kirk Cummings: Well yes. I have my scene partner eating me out. Like real good. Girl, I was so relaxed and feeling good that I farted on his face… By accident. Then he bitch slapped me and said “do you have no class!?” Opps.
Marc Dylan: How does the industry affect your ability to have a normal relationship?
Kirk Cummings: Well I actually was in a happy relationship for most of my career and it ended a year ago this month. So no comment. I think that says enough about the industry. Do I want it one day? Hell yeah, just not now.
Marc Dylan: What was is the worst job you’ve ever worked?
Kirk Cummings: Abercrombie and Fitch, and it lasted a day. I hate being nice to rude people.
Marc Dylan: What’s been the high point of your career so far? Is there an achievement that you’re most proud of?
Kirk Cummings: Well I’d like to think I haven’t hit my highest point in my career yet. I strive to be the best that I can be. This is a serious yet fun business. You can totally make a living off it if your smart. So right now as it stands the highest point in my career/achievement is at the beginning of this year I won best actress at Laura’s Golden Probe Awards. Which I guess stands for actor since their thing is they don’t take themselves seriously. Which is why it means so much to me. I mean really we are fucking for money, none of us should take ourselves seriously. Plus it’s a fun looking award
Marc Dylan: Do you ever see yourself leaving the adult film industry or otherwise branching out to work on other projects?
Kirk Cummings: Yes I will always be working on something but it will always somehow be tied back around to porn. I just love this industry. If I knew how eccentric this industry was in school, I would have told my teacher I wanna be a porn star when I grow up.
Marc Dylan: Is the adult industry what you thought it would be prior to getting into it?
Kirk Cummings: Hell No!
Marc Dylan: In the future do you think you will view your experience in the industry as a positive or negative part of your life?
Kirk Cummings: I will look back and cherish each and every moment I’ve experience. Which actually is part of the reason why I’ve chosen to go sober. I just wanna be able to remember these moments. Instead of throwing up cause I’m drunk. Today is my 33rd day sober.
