ETF’S can be fine if the fees are low. Personally I like building my own collection of equities , the only time I vary from that is when I want exposure to international markets. Since I don’t know the nuances of foreign business environments, its harder to make a proper valuation so I get my exposure through a low cost international mutual fund. Im very confident in my talent for picking winners In the field of domestic companies but when it comes to international I would rather be fairly diversified and trust people who know that business climate much better than I do. Better to be approximately right than precisely wrong.
